Ring Of Fire is a great drinking game. Though it sounds overly complicated, it really does deliver results. There are many different forms of the game, rangingfrom boring dares to extreme nudism, however we seemed to settle with this one. It's a good laugh and gets you hammered without even knowing it.
If you play it properly...3 rounds is all it takes. In order to play, you need an ordinary pack of playing cards, a tall glass and friends. Spread the cards face down in a circle, and place the glass in the middle. Each player sits around the circle of cards and take turns to draw a card. The following lists each cards penalty...
| Aces | WaterfallGet ready for the mexican wave of drinking! The person who selects this card starts to drink, in which the person to the left must start drinking, causing the person to their left to start drinking.... continue round until everyone is chugging away, you cannot stop until the player who started the waterfall stops (or finishes!). |
| Two | Two FingersAlthough never officially defined. Two fingers means to drink two fingers worth of your drink. Be this what you will, two fingers can be two gulps, or two of anything, as long as it's not two sips! A black card means you get to nominate the two fingers out to your friends to drink. A red card means you alone get stuck with the penalty. |
| Three | Three FingersJust like Two, this card up's the anti with making the victim consume just a little more with three fingers (gulps) for the player. Once again, a black card means the player can distribute the three fingers out to any player he\she chooses, red however means it's all yours. |
| Four | Four FingersThe last of the fingers, this card is similar to two and three. Only the maximum penatly one can receive. Drink four fingers of your drink or else! Of course black means you get to choose who gets what, and don't forget the bitches must follow ;) |
| Five | Thumb MasterA lovely little subbtle card that is sure to catch out the people not paying attention. Like the Pose Master, you hang onto this card until you decide to use it (or unless someone draws another one, rendering yours useless). With this card, you become the Thumb Master, allowing you to place either thumb down onto a surface... The last person to mimic your action looses the round. |
| Six | Pose MasterThe player who selects this card holds onto it, until a time when they see fit to strike a pose! The last player to mimic the pose looses and takes a large sip. If another player draws a six before one is used, it will cancel out any outstanding Pose Master cards. |
| Seven | Game Of 21'sBare with us on this one! 21's is a rather simple counting game, which can get confusing amongst a group of drunk people, so it's probably best if we just let Wikipedia explain it here. But don't brush it off as too complicated just yet, it's important to keep the brain cells working ;) |
| Eight | Bitch CardThis card rocks! Obtaining this card means you get to make someone your bitch for the rest of the game. Your bitch receives all the same penatlies you do, if you have to drink thanks to some other cards in the deck... so do they. It does not however cover them for the final King (Read on!). A red card indicates the person to your right is your bitch, the black card, to the left |
| Nine | Change Drinks!Worried that someone is drinking an incredibly wussy drink while your getting plastered on straight Whiskey?! Not for long! This card signifies that all players must swap drinks, except for the designated drivers of course! A red card indicates to pass drinks to the right, black - to the left. |
| Ten | Get Out Of JailA life saving card. This card entitles the holder to skip a penalty. It can only be used once, and doesn't get cancelled out should another player draw a ten before using it. However it cannot be used to save you from the final King. |
| Jack | Torrettes CardOK so may be slightly offensive to people with Torrettes, but if you can't laugh then what can you do. The holder of this card keeps it until such a time when they decide to blurt out random profanities. Everyone must then follow suit, the last player to cotton on to the Torrettes outburst... looses. |
| Queen | Question MasterThe holder of the Queen becomes the Question Master. At any time they may ask a question of any nature. Should a player (or players!) answer the question, they loose and suffer the penalty of drink. However if anyone cleverly notices the Queens presence with a player and evades the question... the Question Master drinks. Another Queen cancels out any outstanding Question master cards. |
| King | Game over, dudeRemember that glass we told you about in the beginning? Should anyone draw one of the first three Kings... then a third of their own drink gets poured into this glass. The King is discarded with the rest of the used cards and the game continues. I think you can already guess what the final king does. When the final King is drawn the game ends. The player who draws the final King must down the contents of the glass in the middle of the circle. It may not be pretty, but those are the rules, No amount of cards or bitches can save you from the final King. Enjoy folks :) |
